You will ensure that satellite configuration is optimized to maintain an operational environment that supports role and beam strategy and you will recommend and implement changes that ensure that service performance meets customers’ expectations. 

 

Are you up to the challenge?

  • With guidance from your manager and in collaboration with your team use your engineering and critical thinking skills to:
  • optimize and maintain the operating environment to derive the highest performance for our assets
  • coordinate the configuration of spacecraft payload and command Epic assets to configure transponders to support commercial opportunities
  • analyze, approve, and issue transmission plan updates and assess customer performance
  • maintain accuracy of service loading in the inventory system at the link level
  • support the implementation of tactical & strategic grooming projects
  • support the Network Operations center to resolve interference events (which includes on-call duties on a periodic basis)

 

You should definitely have:

  • a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Communications Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent degree.
  • at least 1-year of experience in satellite telecommunications with the ability to run accurate link budget analysis
  • basic knowledge of satellite payload performance and earth station performance
  • effective English language communication skills both written and oral
  • this is an “on-call” position (you are periodically required to be available to respond to work requirements outside of regular work hours in the workplace.)
  • the ability to occasionally work additional hours
  • computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
