Service Innovation Director

Responsible for transforming the customer experience through technical ideation, innovation, and execution of initiatives that will reshape Intelsat’s service offerings and seamlessly integrate innovative technologies to deliver ubiquitous, global communication services that have clear market differentiation. As a key member of the technology innovation team, you will leverage and expand Intelsat’s existing core competencies, combined with industry standards and emerging technologies, to bring end-to-end services to fruition. Your role in helping us shape the future:

Service Innovation

  • Bring technical leadership to the ideation, planning, and implementation of ambitious connectivity products and customer-facing vertically integrated services; leverage resources across the organization to translate disruptive ideas into customer-friendly business solutions.
  • Provide critical interface to Business Units, Product Management teams, and Business Solutions
  • Engineering to translate market requirements to a suite of connectivity products that leverage Intelsat’s technology investments.
  • Contribute significantly to strategic technology planning and innovation that will fundamentally transform Intelsat’s business model.

End-to-end Architecture Development

  • Lead the end-to-end ideation, architecture, and execution of fully integrated, zero-touch connectivity services supporting multiple vertical markets.
  • Establish the end-to-end service architecture, leveraging industry standards and best practices to allow continual integration of new technologies and capabilities.
  • Develop and rationalize solutions, leveraging resources across the company, assessing and prioritizing skillsets in line with business and innovation strategy.
  • Manage planning and implementation activities to ensure services deliver on the promises of innovation.

Technology and Market Focus

  • Assess competitive service landscape and trends, develop technology roadmaps and define services that will differentiate Intelsat in the market.
  • Recommend strategies for vertically integrated business models and partner ecosystems across all markets
  • Exploit existing and emerging standards to drive innovation and service differentiation.

 

Can you drive these processes?

  • Seek out, develop and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships that will drive the development and roll-out of disruptive innovative offerings, ensuring alignment on Intelsat’s strategic roadmap, product positioning and commercial strategies.
  • Coordinate regular and consistent communication with internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain feedback loop to ensure the projects are aligned with market opportunity and demand.

 

You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 12 years of strong telecommunication service innovation experience including developing and executing effective innovation strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of the economics and operations of telecommunications networks, mobile networks and standards, software-defined networks, cloud architectures, and operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS)
  • Experience leading a cross functional team to drive results and meet deadlines, instill enthusiasm and creative thinking
  • Experience interfacing with the engineering, operations and commercial teams, and a thorough understanding of the businesses of mobile network customers across global markets
  • Concise and crisp communications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to drive KPIs
  • System analysis, simulations and trade-offs
  • Managerial and leadership skills
  • Analytical and critical-thinking skills

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with an MBA
  • Vast knowledge of the satellite industry and both space and ground, end-user device management, traffic shaping, quality of service, and SLA management concepts
  • Experience working in a global company
