Your role in helping us shape the future:

 

This position applies professional engineering knowledge to perform to provide maintenance and development support for flight dynamics software and derive algorithms requirements for data analysis and to improve flight operations.  Develop strategies and computational algorithms/software required to monitor and control the orbital position and body orientation of operational and planned satellites. Support software maintenance and development life cycle including configuration management, testing and delivery process.  

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Support development, maintenance, evaluation, testing and delivery of flight dynamics software and tools to improve data trending and satellite maneuver life
  • Support data and trending analysis for the fleet of satellites.
  • Monitor maneuver performance and refine and update satellite maneuver life estimates.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities.

 

Can you drive these processes?

  • Perform daily orbital operation for Intelsat satellites including orbit and attitude determination; plan and reconstruct station-keeping maneuvers; generate maneuver schedule; trending analysis, update propellant consumption and generate orbital products.   
  • Resolve orbit anomalies and any problems related to flight dynamics

 

You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (computer science, engineering, physics degree preferred), with at least three years of relevant experience
  • Good analytical ability and programming skills
  • Experience working in an environment which requires engineering and analytical skills
  • Experience with Fortran.
  • Experience working with different hardware platforms and software operating systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and perform self-directed research.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.

It would be nice if you had:

 

  • Familiarity with Matlab, SQL, and/or Perl is a plus
