Join the innovation team responsible for defining the requirements of the Next Generation Epic Satellites Ground Hub architecture. Your role in helping us shape the future:

You will collaborate within the organization to lead the design and implementation of the next generation Epic satellites ground hub architecture as part of the integrated echo-system. As the subject-matter expert for Intelsat's Next Generation Epic ground infrastructure, you will lead technology development to ensure seamless integration between the terrestrial and satellite ground infrastructure working closely with the subsystems leads and vendors.

 

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Define requirements for the hub infrastructure to support large numbers of satellite multi-spot density scaling.
  • Develop requirements for hub multiple carrier transmit modules working closely with various verticals vendors.
  • Develop satellite air interface and hub sizing to meet the teleport traffic loading and growth forecast.
  • Define requirements for high frequency ground site diversity and redundancy architectures.
  • Perform engineering calculations related to the hub design, the sizing and diversity architecture.
  • Create detailed scope requirements for the RFP, collaborate with technical leads and project managers to ensure the success of the design detailed in the RFP, including communication regarding technical scope, schedule, budget, and resource needs.

 

You should definitely have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 10-years of recent experience with ground hub infrastructure design and architecture (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the stated requirement)
  • Good knowledge of satellite hub vendors’ platforms capabilities, BW management, QoS capabilities in FWD/RTN
  • Expert-level knowledge of satellite ground systems including antenna systems, active and passive RF components, transmission lines, and RF propagation theory
  • Expert-level knowledge of transmission system redundancy schemes, frequency conversion theory, and RF amplification theory
  • Expert-level knowledge of various modulation and coding schemes used in today’s satellite industry
  • Demonstrable expertise in satellite ground infrastructure and end-to-end echo-system.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others to resolve complex problems, provide technical leadership for cross-functional teams, resolve conflicts and move projects forward
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, influence stakeholders and garner support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, etc.)

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • Understanding of hub platform demarcation points (terrestrial, satellite)
  • Experience in IP and serial interfacing theory and applications
  • Experience in monitoring and control systems
  • Knowledge of NGSO satellites non-satellite-based communication technologies such as cellular, terrestrial microwave, optical systems
  • Knowledge of network management orchestration
