  • Evaluate the design architecture of flat panel antennas including form factor and tradeoff power and thermal dissipation.
  • Define requirements for active and passive antenna electronic steering mechanisms.
  • Create detailed scope requirements for the RFP, collaborate with the product team and project managers to ensure the success of the design detailed in the RFP, including communication regarding technical scope, schedule, budget, and resource needs.

You should definitely have:

  • A bachelor of science degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 10-years of recent experience with electromechanical and electronically steering antennas design and architecture (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the stated requirement)
  • Experience with flat panel antennas including electromechanical and electronically steering and measurement techniques
  • Good knowledge of the antenna system design performance parameters and impact on terminal EIRP, G/T, FCC/ ITU masks
  • Familiarity with different type of antennas Dipoles, Yagi, Parabolic, flat panel
  • Expert knowledge of antenna form factor and design tradeoff power and thermal dissipation
  • Expert knowledge of antenna electronic steering mechanism active, passive
  • Good knowledge of the flat panel terminals elevation and skew angles and performance assessment
  • Familiarity with antennas for satellite applications from 3.5 to 30 GHz in support of mobility applications terminals
  • Good knowledge of the satellite terminal antenna vendors in particular, Kymeta, Phasor, Thinkom, Qest, Panasonic, etc.
  • Familiarity with antennas for terrestrial applications from 500 MHz to 3.5 GHz
