Are you up to the challenge?

The Manager, Process & Readiness Assurance who joins our EPMO team is responsible for the successful structuring and execution of initiatives focused on business process definition, optimization and measurement, while also driving organizational analysis, planning and execution to anticipate and control changes introduced through new product, process and technology programs.  The role establishes and evolves the methodology and framework for capture of cross-functional processes, with a focus on identification and implementation of necessary improvements and measurement of results.  This position also partners with the Product and IT Program Management teams to ensure organizational readiness to deliver and adopt new products and technology solutions throughout the company. Additionally, the role is responsible for growing the team of process analysts and change management professionals by providing leadership and coaching to ensure streamlined execution and compliance with methodology, actively engaging when necessary to resolve issues and rectify troubled initiatives.

This role is primarily focused around:

  • Working cross-functionally to define, evolve and optimize business processes and align dependencies and constraints across other processes and teams
  • Leading organizational process definition activities to create processes where they do not exist, or determine the impact of new product and technology initiatives on baselined processes, interfaces, and organizational roles and responsibilities
  • Defining, evolving and enforcing the process engineering and product & technology readiness methodologies and standards, including definition of team structures, deliverables, templates, and status reporting around initiative milestones
  • Work with project leads and stakeholders to ensure the Business Support Systems and Operational Support Systems are designed and implemented in ways to best transition work efficiently and effectively through the company from commercial teams to engineering and operations
  • Promoting awareness of methodologies and educating stakeholders across the company in order to gain, validate and maintain the commitment of key resources in a matrixed environment
  • Implementing operational constructs to measure effectiveness of business processes, establishing metrics and tracking mechanisms as necessary
  • Owning the portfolio of process and analysis initiatives to ensure all operate within the scope, budget and timeline boundaries baselined at the beginning of the efforts, as well as identifying and maintaining other key performance indicators
  • Communicating status and issues to Senior Management for action, and work with peers across the organization to remediate issues on behalf of the process and readiness analysts where necessary
  • Providing guidance to the team and insight to management on underperforming process and readiness initiatives in order to understand the issues and address them
  • Providing governance for required documentation creation focused on business processes and analysis activities and ensure that all documentation is archived via our document management process
  • Applying formal change management practices that ensure that all process and analysis initiatives are baselined at kickoff and all changes are thoroughly scrutinized for justification, impact to the initiative is comprehensively assessed, and have received appropriate signoff and acceptance from stakeholders
  • Hiring and training new employees, delegating work and holding direct reports accountable for their performance within their defined roles and responsibilities
  • Managing the workload of the team to ensure that priorities are clear, expectations are set and commitments are met
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and management of direct reports, ensuring each employee receives the professional development required to allow them to succeed
  • Managing vendor relationships and contractors in support of team mission

To manage our team of Process & Readiness Assurance experts, you will need to:

  • Develop educated recommendations on best ways to improve and standardize how work moves through the company
  • Negotiate and unify divergent inputs and opinions into a seamless end-to-end process across multiple stakeholders and organizations
  • Keep a big-picture perspective to see beyond function or task-based “sore spots”
  • Adjust rapidly to shifts in priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Be able to motivate and influence others to share information, work across functions, and drive to a shared goal for the benefit of the company
     

You should definitely have:

  • Minimum 10 Years of professional process engineering & optimization experience across complex organizational & technology change management initiatives
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience commensurate with the responsibilities of this role
  • Experience defining and enforcing process definition and improvement methodologies and standards
  • Exceptional analytic skills to think “outside of the box”, resolve ambiguity and translate SME discussions into process flows and proactively work to optimize them
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace
  • Strong sense of ownership, with the willingness to go above and beyond to resolve issues
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
  • Openness to alternate ideas, concepts, and perspectives
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
  • Fluency with MS Office tools

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • Previous people management experience
  • Experience with Business Process Management, eTOM (or other TM Frameworkx), Agile, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, or other process frameworks
  • Experience supporting organizational change management
  • Experience with satellite communications, telecommunications, product development, and satellite-based video & data services
