As part of the Intelsat vision, we will define transformative product concepts with the performance, features, and flexibility required to open new profitable markets, drive new revenue streams and ensure the most reliable, secure and ubiquitously available communications globally. To accomplish our goal, we are looking for bold thinkers who will continue our legacy of innovation for decades to come.

You will be responsible for driving the development and execution of large innovation initiatives that will reshape Intelsat’s product portfolio and seamlessly integrate satellites and other space based platforms into the global telecommunications fabric.  You will serve as a linchpin that strategically and holistically links Intelsat’s existing core competencies with internal and external technology and business innovation, to open new avenues for company growth that expand beyond the borders of satellite communications and establish Intelsat as the partner of choice across the broader communications industry.

  • Lead the strategic and commercial development and execution of new innovation concepts including initiatives for new products, technology platforms and other corporate and industry-level innovation initiatives.
  • For identified innovation concepts:
    • Develop a clear vision and definition of success – with supporting evolution roadmaps and commercialization plans.
    • Coordinate/define and holistically evaluate business evolution scenarios that align with relevant technology roadmaps. Work with commercial and engineering teams to evaluate new concepts against current “tool box” of readily available technology options, identify and seek solutions for technology or service capability gaps and development requirements.
    • Coordinate business model development in collaboration with Finance, Corporate Strategy and Business Unit teams. Identify gaps in market data and define/coordinate research activities.
    • Engage closely with internal and external (vendor, consultant, partner, and customer) stakeholders to manage complex links and dependencies across the program, to ensure alignment and focus across activities and swim lanes.
    • Identify and address risks, gaps and roadblocks. Provide direction to enable program team to move fast – quick decisions, calculated risks, maintaining focus and alignment.
    • Plan development of organization, resources and expertise for eventual commercial operation.

Can you drive these processes?

Collaborate with the Business Units, Corporate Strategy, Engineering, Business Development and other internal and external resources to monitor technology and service developments in targeted industries and verticals to identify new technology/platform/product concepts and assess impact and identify recommended adjustments to existing programs and roadmaps.

Foster environment of ideation and innovation to cultivate new solution concepts.

Communicate the Innovation Roadmap and promote an Innovation culture within the company.
