Intelsat’s Rotational Associate Program is a highly competitive two year program that provides recent graduates the opportunity to develop their technical skills in the communications industry at the forefront of satellite innovation. As a Rotational Associate, you will work for 8 months at a time, over a two-year period, in three different teams and experience the day-to-day responsibilities of the different career paths and work with different teams as they collaborate to achieve their goals.

Intelsat’s Rotational Associate Program
In this track, you will utilize your education and skills and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact working with the Satellite Control Systems, Satellite Engineering and Asset Planning teams. Upon successful completion of the 24 month program, you will be promoted and placed accordingly into a role that will align with and build upon your experience.

You should definitely have:
•    A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
•    Technical aptitude and can quickly adapt to new tools, computer software and applications
•    Proficiency with Object Oriented Software Design and common design patterns
•    Proficiency with computer software development using industry standard languages (for example: C++, C#, Python, Java script, etc.)
•    Understanding of the relational database model and familiarity with data management tools such as Oracle or SQL Server
•    Experience in performing analysis in Excel and/or Matlab. 
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Interpersonal skills including diplomacy and maturity in relating and interacting with people with differing skillsets
•    Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, with a strong sense of deadline and deliverable urgency
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

 

It would be nice if you have:
•    Experience with Visual Basic
•    Advanced coursework in controls, electronics, thermodynamics and/or dynamics
•    Participation in school project demonstrating creative problem solving, teamwork, and thoroughness
•    Job experience in applicable engineering discipline


Months 1-8 as an Associate, Satellite Control Systems
You will will participate in the development of new tools around the core telemetry and commanding infrastructure to facilitate situational awareness and supporting our customers’ needs.  
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•    Conduct requirements analysis, architectural and detail design, coding, implementation, and testing for highly integrated complex information systems 
•    Collaborate with other developers on the various software implementation tasks and participate actively in that implementation
•    Identify and resolve systems software issues, also identifying and implementing process improvements
•    Produce appropriate support documentation for applications in development

 

Months 8-16 as an Associate Satellite Engineer 
You will support the operations of Intelsat's satellite fleet by providing support to the Bus Engineering team responsible for Attitude Control, Data handling, Power, Thermal and mechanical Subsystems.  
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•    Study, learn and train to develop intimate knowledge of geostationary communication spacecraft mission requirements, design, space environment, routine and emergency procedures and operations history and learned lessons
•    Maintain schedule of routine planned spacecraft operations for assigned spacecraft, direct and monitor execution and review results
•    Perform routine analysis to monitor the health of spacecraft systems throughout the satellites lifecycle 
•    Support the development, testing and maintenance of spacecraft operation procedures, including performance on the satellite simulator
•    Support the refinement of spacecraft operations processes
•    Execute assigned operations projects that involve investigation, information gathering, design review, documentation, execution and reporting
•    Support operations integration of new spacecraft
•    Participate in the development of software tools, methods and procedures to improve operations efficiencies
•    Support the development and refinement for multiple satellite ground control systems

 

Months 16-24 as an Associate, Asset Planning
You will help to optimize Intelsat inventory Mbps for our Products Flex and CBH. You will be focused on developing, communicating, supporting and implementing technical and commercial optimization. You will work in close coordination with products global accounts, BSE and Sales.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•    Design and produce timely and meaningful analysis and data interpretation derived from commercial, performance and operational datasets
•    Perform complex evaluations and technical feasibility analysis to recommend grooming and/or beam re-points in coordination within Solutions Development and Sales 
•    Assist with development, implementation, and documentation of quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure that reported data is accurate and reliable
