You’ll safeguard Intelsat assets by minimizing bad-debt risks, and to maximize cash inflows through the timely collection of accounts receivable. You’ll regularly interact with internal and external parties to resolve collection issues.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Use your excellent organizational skills to coordinate collections by contacting customers as soon as they become past due and follow up on broken commitments, prioritizing workload in order to maintain the shortest collection period while minimizing bad-debt loss.
  • Limit financial exposure to our Company by reviewing customers’ revenue liability and ensuring adequate collateral is obtained to secure services.
  • Help maintain various databases to assure the continued integrity of data and facilitate information sharing.  Be creative by developing efficient and time sensitive procedures for working with our various Company departments.
  • Obtain financial and other relevant information through annual reports and make contact with all references (banks, credit rating agencies, and trade references) to determine the risk level of each customer. You’ll then analyze financial and essential information to recommend appropriate credit terms of each customer.
  • Ensure you regularly communicate with our Sales and Sales Support teams. Strive to develop and maintain relationships with sales executives and customers to allow for timely resolution of problems.
  • Work closely with Treasurer's Office/Banks/Customers to ensure the timely receipt, recognition and application of payments. Obtain and safe-keep guarantees and Letters of Credit where appropriate.
  • Research and coordinate the identification and resolution of customer problems such as billing and payment application errors.
  • Prepare and make monthly and quarterly reserving recommendations to Management.

Can you drive these processes?

  • Take the lead to educate internal and external customers about Intelsat's billing terms and credit and collection policies.
  • Design continuous improvement techniques to reengineer existing policies and procedures.  Propose process refinements to enhance internal/external customer support and service.
  • Stay current by monitoring industry practices and global and regional events that could enhance or adversely affect receivables, country risk, and other Intelsat goals and objectives.

You should definitely have:

  • You must have a 2-year of Technical School Degree or a Bachelors’ Degree (or an equivalent amount of education and experience), preferably with a focus in financial management, accounting or a similar specialty and at least one year of relevant experience.
  • You’ll also need at least one year of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a basic understanding of accounts receivables and cash collection processes.
  • You must be fully fluent in French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • This role requires your demonstrated interpersonal and negotiating skills, and your ability to adapt to various work styles.
