Your role in helping us shape the future:

 

You will play a vital role in managing the Flight Dynamic function of Intelsat’s fleet of satellites, applying Intelsat best practice concept of operations for daily operations and delivery of orbital products

Are you up to the challenge?

 

  • Lead and manage the Flight Dynamic staff to provide guidance to ensure safe and efficient operations of the satellite fleet.
  • Resolve and follow up on issues related to the FDS operations and delivery of FDS products.
  • Ensure FDS staff are familiar with the concept of operations, procedure and processes.
  • Coordinate FDS operations related issues with customers, vendors, control center, satellite engineering and IT.
  • Interface with customers and vendors relating to FDS operation issues
  • Establish operational objectives and assignments, and delegate assignments to staff.
  • Provide leadership to look for ways to streamline and improve operation efficiencies and accuracies.
  • Perform all managerial and leadership functions required of an Intelsat manager, including but not limited to: timecard approval; goal development; performance and rewards management; and coaching and mentoring.

Can you drive these processes?

 

  • Provide regular reports to Intelsat management on the technical and programmatic of the fleet status, including anomaly status, operation issues, project and activities status and scheduling, staff assignments, on-going activities and concerns.
  • Coordinate long term spacecraft capacity and risk assessments with Intelsat management and customer interface groups.
  • Foster and lead the development of process improvements that reduce operational risks such as methodologies and software tools and to improve status assessments and responses.
  • Assist Intelsat management in forward looking planning including staffing requirements, software specifications, flight systems integrations and continue CONOPS improvements.
  • Establish processes to mentor, coach and develop new additions and existing members of the engineering staff.
  • Expand staff skills and knowledge base by promoting cross training and assignments while acknowledging and balancing individual strengths and interests.

 

You should definitely have:

 

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in formulating FDS concept of operations, procedure and processes.
  • Previous responsibilities in managing FDS product generation rand delivery.
  • Previous leadership and people management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in interfacing with customers on FDS related matters
  • Experience in working on different FDS and real time ground systems on different operating systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in orbital mechanics theory and application to ground operations.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment and priority setting.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and independently.
  • Must have good communication skills required including the ability to express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Takes initiative to develop and expand job knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn and comply with process, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work with people and promote collaborative work culture.

 

It would be nice if you had:

 

  • Knowledge in Web based tools and experience in designing automation utilities is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in continue process improvement is highly desired.
