To champion and drive the Latin American strategy across business units in alignment with our overall objective, Intelsat is seeking a Regional Vice President of Latin America Sales (RVP) to play a key leadership role and maximize opportunities in the region.  Based in Coral Gables, Florida and reporting to the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, the RVP’s over-arching objective will be to forecast and drive revenue growth in close alignment with the Media and Networks business units.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive leadership skills at the executive level and collaborate with general managers, peers, managers and direct reports throughout the organization to effectively and efficiently ensure solution delivery and manage the business
  • Create and deliver continued development of the Latin America sales team
  • Represent Intelsat in Regional Customer, Government and Industry activities
  • Ability to synthesize sector and customer profile information into appropriate business unit and account plans to support the customer’s strategic, technical and business objectives
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills with demonstrated abilities to establish high level customer contact across Latin America
  • Demonstrated understanding of government dynamics and regulatory issues and how to integrate with a commercial focus

Specific Requirements

  • Candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in business, telecommunication or a related field; MBA or other graduate degree desirable but not required
  • Broad telecommunication, technology, and / or satellite knowledge
  • Possesses a solid base of business/finance knowledge to drive business cases and value creation
  • Demonstrated negotiations and transaction closing experience
  • Track record of driving business results and achieving goals
  • A minimum of 15 years professional sales experience in a strategic leadership role
  • Experience working in international markets and in multicultural environments.
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Ability to travel extensively and internationally


Scope of the role

  • Relationships and alliances with other satellite operators including coordination of these relationships for other functional departments.  (Spectrum strategy, Business units, sales, etc.)
  • Development and execution of strategic sale plans for Latin America. This would be achieved in close collaboration with the business units and innovations/development teams.
