Your role in helping us shape the future:

You will have a vital technical role in defining, designing, maintaining and troubleshooting current and future hardware used in Intelsat Inflight airborne satellite systems.


Are you up to the challenge?

You will specify requirements and provide engineering oversight (in design, prototyping and testing phases) for the development of avionic satellite communication systems, to including all subsystems (antenna, tracking, power amplifier, LNA/LNB, etc.). 


Can you drive these processes?

  • Define requirements for airborne microwave antenna systems (e.g. pointing accuracy, sensitivity) based on service delivery requirements.
  • Work with vendors to establish the suitability of proposed designs, provide feedback on prototype development, and confirm performance during product verification testing.
  • Work with vendors and certification engineering on to ensure relevant FAA and FCC requirements are met.
  • Interface closely with network and development teams to ensure that all system level performance requirements are achieved. 


You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience, 10 preferred.
  • Strong RF experience including RF systems and RF components performance, experience with airborne RF systems including link budgets and RF lineup calculations at Ku frequencies.
  • Experience with RF lab equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers and Signal Generators
  • Detailed knowledge of LRUs and components used is airborne satellite systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams.


It would be nice if you had:

  • Extensive experience with airborne satellite antennas and radomes preferred.
