Our purview includes satellite-based IP connectivity, streaming data and telemetry, testing automation, and OTT video.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who feels comfortable with and enjoys working up and down the stack, from backend to frontend, on-prem and in the cloud, on a variety of different projects and technologies, across teams, and using the latest languages and tools!


Your role in helping us shape the future:

  • Own and lead design and prototype implementation of a new IP connectivity or media system feature
  • Work with product and technology teams to develop strawman requirements for proof-of-concept
  • Research latest applicable technology and present options and open-source implementations to the team, providing pros and cons to each approach considered
  • Develop and publish related IPR
  • Work with external vendors to secure trial hardware and software to conduct lab and field proof-of-concepts
  • Work with others on the PoC team to coordinate implementation
  • Implement the PoC using best-in-class tools and technology
  • Instrument the implementation to help make data-driven decisions on productization
  • Demonstrate the PoC to stake holders
  • Document the selected architecture and lessons learned
  • Assist with transfer of PoC and related technology and knowledge to product teams for long-term ownership and support

You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technology
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant development experience in telecommunications or media industry
  • Proficient in one of Golang, Java, or C/C++, and one of Javascript or Python
  • Expertise in Linux deployment and configuration
  • Expertise in Docker
  • Expertise in developing and deploying AWS services
  • Expertise in TCP/IP communications stacks and optimizations
  • Bonus: experience with optimizing TCP/IP for satellite networks
  • Bonus: experience with IPTV and OTT media and DRM
  • Bonus: experience with ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana data streaming and visualization
  • Ability to work autonomously and with small cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills including technical documentation, development and delivery of demonstrations and presentations and the ability to listen and communicate effectively with product teams and vendors.
