Intelsat is on a mission to transform our OSS tool suite using best-in-class platforms (ServiceNow, Netcool, and SevOne). You will be a key member of the Platform Systems team working to develop and support our inventory, case, and workflow tooling capabilities.

We are looking for an expert software engineer well-versed with web/API-based programming to support a ServiceNow platform purpose-built for our operations support systems (OSS) needs. You will be a hands-on technical leader building, supporting, and administering Intelsat’s OSS solution, including inventory, workflow, and case management functions.

  • Learn and Collaborate - Immerse yourself with Operations and Engineering units to understand their concept of operations and methodologies. Learn from established enterprise architects, developer peers, and subject matter experts.
  • Design, Test and Build - Work with your team and stakeholders to create technology solutions best suited to operational needs.
  • Support – Maintain and optimize the environment. Triage, research, and resolve complex problems.
  • Heads up execution – Provide accurate work estimates, meet deadlines, and understand project methodology

Can you drive these processes?

 

  • Gathering and refining requirements with stakeholders.
  • Developing solutions to business problems.
  • Ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture roadmap and strategies.
  • Enhancing tools to improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues through all phases of SDLC.

You should definitely have:

 

  • Bachelors degree and minimum of five to seven (5-7) years’ work experience; an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirements.   
  • Extensive development experience with ServiceNow (particularly with multiple or custom integrations).
  • Demonstrated extensive web/API cloud development experience on concurrent and distributed platforms.
  • Experience in unit test automation and CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins).
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies.
  • Thorough Javascript experience, particularly AngularJS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An outgoing can-do attitude and a drive for excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

It would be nice if you had:

 

  • Node.js experience/familiarity.
  • Experience with supporting large, 24x7 Operations organizations.
  • Experience with RF, satellite, or network communications industries.
  • Complex CMDB modeling background.
