The Business Analytics Manager has the responsibility for leading the Intelsat operations performance efforts, including assessment of complex data, developing actionable organizational dashboards and providing measurement and recommendations on organizational and network performance.  This role requires a leader with practical experience in using data to drive operational and network optimizations by leveraging internal and external resources to make accurate, meaningful and insightful decisions.

  • Drive analytical strategy and implementation of data and dashboarding throughout the organization
  • Utilize broad data sets to drive actionable solutions and information to the business and partner groups
  • Establish and refine performance Network, Service, and Vendor Availability Measurements and targets
  • Oversee development of reporting to monitor organizational performance across all functional areas (i.e. customer experience, productivity, process efficiency, network performance, etc.)
  • Create blended quantitative and qualitive insights to develop a clear story and action plan
  • Coordinate work between analytics team and IT partners to source, collect, and integrate organizational relevant data across systems and tools
  • Drive continuous evaluation of operational performance and forecast models to identify work drivers and other related factors influencing the business
  • Engage organizational leadership to understand and refine performance parameters and targets associated with SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Direct research and analysis projects to identify key information and findings via ad-hoc reporting and deep dive analysis
  • Deliver automated/online distribution of metrics, reports, and dashboards to the organization and business partners
  • Responsible for delivery statistically sound organizational performance analysis and high-quality executive level readouts to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement holistic learning plans that integrate data, trends and primary research
  • Use and encourage strong conceptual thinking and ability to design and modify complex mathematical models for predicting business metrics, producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting portfolio and performance tracking
  • Leverage leadership skills to build a culture of teamwork and high-performance team members
  • Mentor analysts to develop help identify and develop analytical skills, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Assist in documenting and identify automation opportunities to drive performance improvement and data integrity
  • Ability to apply analytical, creative thinking and negotiation skills
  • Set direction of team, evaluate team performance, and contribute to recruiting, interviewing and hiring of team members

  • Must have the ability to travel (as needed)
  • Matrix manage and coach/mentor others, providing critical feedback on process, tools, or behaviors

 

You should definitely have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics or Mathematics or high school diploma with at least 7+ years of performing in an analytical or strategic role with experience managing an analytical team
  • Experience leading primary quantitative and qualitive research and projects
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly self-managed and self-organized with strong leadership abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing
  • Proficient skills in workflow development, operational modeling, metric development, analytics and relationship diagramming
  • Proficient skill sets in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Understanding of analytical tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Advanced critical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Previous Business Analytics, Operations and/or Engineering experience

 

It would be nice if you had:

 

  • Six Sigma or ITIL Certifications
  • Scripting (i.e. Python)
  • Positive and cheerful attitude with a lively and outgoing disposition
